Stephen L. Ewing, M.D.
Assistant Professor Director of Surgical Pathology
Dr. Ewing is an Assistant Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology and Director of Surgical Pathology. His primary teaching occurs in the areas of autopsies and surgical pathology. Dr. Ewing received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine (1970) and completed an internship in pathology (1971) and residency in pathology (1974) at Washington University School of Medicine - Barnes Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology (1974) and Clinical Pathology (1985). Dr. Ewing has written about several topics, including aberrant expression of MUC5AC and MUC6 gastric mucin genes in colorectal polyps, immunocytochemical localization of an immunoconjugate in human prostate tumors, and altered mucin core peptide immunoreactivity in the colon polyp-carcinoma sequence.
