Dr. Bowman instructs residents during their transfusion medicine rotation. He was previously the Chief Executive Officer of the North Central Blood Services of the American Red Cross.

Publications

Dr. Bowman has published on a number of subjects, including the evaluation of clinical and laboratory aspects of antibody tests for detection of hepatitis C virus infection in blood donors, the long-term follow-up of blood donors with indeterminate human immunodeficiency virus type-1 results on western blot, the donor's attitudes about exporting and importing blood, the sero-prevalence of measles among unvaccinated young adults, and the laboratory investigation of TRALI.
